In May, our early season fruit starts shipping from the Imperial Valley and El Centro growing regions. We then transition our focus to our home ranches in Mendota, California to deliver peak freshness through the end of October. Our vertical integration ensures we’re able to manage every aspect of the supply chain for quality and deliver on sustainability initiatives that keep our communities strong for years to come.

Watermelon
A Healthy Summer Treat!
Our seedless watermelon varieties are grown using the standardized principals of “Good Agricultural Practices” and our farms are regularly audited and certified by independent third-party inspectors to ensure we have met or exceeded the most stringent of quality and food safety standards. They are hand picked at full maturity, packed, cooled and ready for rapid market delivery at the peak of freshness.
In addition to being juicy and sweet, research conducted by the National Watermelon Board, indicated watermelons are considered by consumers to be healthy for the heart. Research indicates that 80% of respondents consider health and nutrition a purchase motivator. In-store education materials and nutrition information can help drive sales.

Cantaloupe
Your Season-Long Cantaloupe Supplier!
Farmed in Mendota, California, the “Cantaloupe Capital of the World”, our cantaloupes are grown using the standardized principals of Good Agricultural Practices, and our farms are regularly audited and certified by independent third-party inspectors to ensure we have met or exceeded the most stringent quality and food safety standards.
In addition to using environmentally friendly drip irrigation, all of Pappas Family Farms’ cantaloupes are dry field packed by hand. Extensive research conducted by the California Cantaloupe Advisory Board and UC Davis food safety experts have determined dry field packing ensures that the cantaloupes are handled as little as possible, reducing the potential of exposure to microbes and bacteria. Thanks to our new packing facility our cantaloupes are harvested, packed, cooled and shipped to customers within hours!

Honeydew
The Sweetest of all Melons!
Our honeydews stay on the vine until they are perfectly ripe and full of sugar, guaranteeing delicious flavor and quality. Once mature they are carefully hand picked, dry packed and lightly cooled at our state-of-the-art packing facility located near our ranches.

Sweet Corn
Hand-Picked and Ready for the Grill!
Once our white, yellow and bi-color sweet corn has reached optimal maturity, it is hand-picked and immediately cooled to protect its quality and sweetness. Our state-of-the-art cooling facility allows us to quickly cool the product down to its ideal temperature of 32°. This minimizes the conversion of sugars to starch, delivering a farm fresh taste consumers will love.
Both our white and yellow sweet corn varieties are grown using the standardized principals of Good Agricultural Practices, and our farms are regularly audited and certified by independent third party inspectors to ensure we have met or exceeded the most stringent of quality and food safety standards.
